Do I need to come to your country to learn your language?

Where do you think is the best place for learning a foreign language? It is not easy to make the best choice. Obviously, it is very good for a man to study a foreign language in his home country because he spends less money in his home country than in the foreign country, he can do other work while studying the language and he doesn’t have to suffer from homesick, new culture behaviors, unfamiliar foods. However, if he studies a foreign language in the country in which the language is spoken, he will learn it more effectively than he does in his own country, focus only on studying and experience a new life. In my view, staying at my country for studying a foreign language is better than going abroad to study languages.

First of all, I can save an amount of money from not going abroad. With this money, not only can I spend on tuition, materials for studying and living on, but also I have money to spend for other stuff such as buying a car or going on holiday. I, also, don’t have to worry to collect enough money for going abroad neither. For example, to learn English as foreign language, I have to go to England, Australia or America where English is the native language. Regarding only on the money for flying from my country to these country, it is a big amount of money compare to my income.

In addition, if staying at home country, besides studying a new language, I can do many other works. For example, I can build up for my career. It needs time to improve one’s position in his career, to get experience, to earn good emotion from superiors and so on. I would never do this if I weren’t here, my country, and have no time for it if I went to England, for instant, for a long period. Moreover, I have time, as well, for my family. My wife and my daughter alike need my help, and they will feel alone if am not at home. Thus, it is better for me to be at home to study languages.

Finally, living in a new place is not easy stuff. You have to suffer from difficulties such as homesick, new culture and strange foods. I read a story of a man on an article about experiencing new life in England; this made me afraid of being frantic. Can I overpass the difficulty in a new place, which is very far from home? What would I do if I deal with obstacles? The more you are unaccustomed with the surroundings, the more risks you may face with. It is more comfortable for me to stay at my home country to studying English, if it is English language.

In conclusion, I have no doubt to make the choice of staying in my own country to learn a foreign language. No regret of spending a lot of money, being comfortable and going about a lot of different stuff gives me the reasons why I don’t choose going abroad for studying a different language. What would you do if you were stolen all of your money in a foreign country?

  1. Everyone has a choice. Studying at the coutry or going abroad depends on each person.
My cousin (my older brother) had had a chance to go abroad but he rejected. His reasons were the same as you:). He doesn't want to go abroad without his family;) (Coincidentally, he also teaches Math ^^)
