I learned many things from my childhood. I liked running in the rice field, enjoying the atmosphere with the scent of growing weed. This helps me feel the field and love it. Also, I usually played games with my friends in the field. I especially enjoyed swimming and jumping with them in a small ditch embodying water for irrigating the field. We didn't care about anything except chasing and catching each other. After an event, we gathered around a fire for a small party. We often baked sweet potatoes to prepare for our parties. I learn a lot of skills from my friends. I learned how to make a fire, how to know whether potatoes are eatable or not. I learn the important of corporation and unity. My characteristics developed from these ordinary lessons.
My mother taught me to be honest. She told me the story about the boy and the wolves, in which a boy teasing other people by imitating to be attacked by wolves. After several succession of cheating villagers, he was attacked by a real wolf. The end of the story was that he lost his lambs. She also taught me to respect other people if though which kind of people they are. Once upon a time, my mother criticized me when I didn't allow a beggar to come in. She said that they were so pity and we should be sorrow for them and help them as much as we could. She asked me to imagine that I was in the situation like the beggar told her what I thought. I was very regret about that and understand how to interact among people latter.
People in my neighborhood were very good. Though they were not rich people, they were ready to give a favor if you needed. I not only played games at home, but at any surroundings' house without any complain. I often received small gifts from adults for our conformity and obedience. Everybody in my village didn't hesitate to visit their neighbors’ home for a cup of tea and chatting every night, after the hard work in the field during daytime. From their stories, I had learnt a lot of things. I learned from them that there was a larger world outside our village. There were many places I had ever been. At that time, I hope I could go anywhere I like. Most transportation at that time is on foot and ride bicycles.
Everything is different now. The village has developed and changed a lot. The ways people behave are also changed. We have a new life, however I can't forget the days of my childhood. I like the nature at that time.
